Xiere’s armies led by Katrianna are ravaging the realms.. It is in one of these conquered realms, he discovers a woman named Heran and makes her his guardian. With six guardians already in his stable, Xiere continues his search for more worthy beings to serve him.
 
He has developed a strategy to finally defeat the Old Ones. Slowly however, his plans begin to unravel. Everything he has carefully laid out for centuries is becoming undone.
 
Another entity named Zxcaran appears and begins to assault Katrianna with visions. The truth about Xiere, and who he really is, is finally revealed to Katrianna. She must now choose … choose between the darkness and the flames.
